The inaugural event in 2022 saw 250+ participants fight cold & ice in Springfield, MO

The 2023 event garnered 600+ participants to the 2nd Annual Running From Yeti event in Springfield, MO

In 2024, Freddie packed his bags and traveled across MO to visit nearly 1700 of his closest friends in KC, STL, & back home in Springfield!

In 2022, we looked at our local SWMO race calendars and saw a gap in February. Our owner called the City of Springfield and said "Hey, we probably don't have enough time, but can we put this event together in a month and a half?" Our good friend at the city, Sharon, said "Sure!" So in February 2022, Freddie the Yeti made his grand entrance and met over 250 of his new best friends that saw this crazy winter race with cool swag and SHOWED UP to what ended up being a debatably good race day. The week of the event it snowed, and iced, and snowed + iced some more. That was the start of this adventure, though! Freddie loves the cold and he loves getting to chase runners, take photos, and let out the occasional ROAR. The next year, the event grew bigger, and in 2024 Freddie bought an old Winnebago (not really) and visited his friends in KC and STL- along with Springfield, MO. In 2024, Freddie saw 3 cities and nearly 1700 participants. "What's next?" Freddie said as we were all huddled in his giant igloo. We're still answering that question!

Freddie can't help but want to meet more and more people! He loves the fans, he's a sucker for the limelight, and can't get enough of the paparazzi and kissing of babies. In 2027, he is shooting for bigger and greater events in our 3 Missouri cities, a return stop in Fayetteville, AR AND his second visit to Memphis, TN, and Tulsa, OK! He can't wait tour the United States and hangout with all his friends, affectionately known as Freddie's Buddies.

Here's to an incredible 2027 filled with insanely cool swag, yummy treats, and pictures with a Yeti wearing a headband and running shoes!

Running From Yeti is known for its fantastic swag. In 2024, all participants received a Colorful Hoodie, Specific Finisher Medal, and their choice of Camelbak Insulated Bottle ​OR Sweet Running Hat!
